Information and psychological war of Russia against Ukraine: how to counteract it

The question of using by the Russian Federation means and methods of information and psychological influence against Ukraine are considered, the reasons for lack of resistance to these actions are studied, specific approaches to protecting the national information field are suggested.

Abstract. Behind the tokens of aggression and intolerance is the will of communicators and «their» understanding of moral values and principles, as well as the concept of freedom of communication and justice. MEMES AS MARKERS OF FAKES AND PROPAGANDA TOPICS IN MEDIA REPRESENTATIONS OF THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN CONFLICT

The article deals with memes as expressive rhetorical resource in media representations of the Russian-Ukrainian hybrid war and military conflict. It explores textual slogans of Russian propaganda that serve to legitimize external aggression. When these units are mirrored as intertextual material in the Ukrainian counter-discourse, they become critical targets for deconstructing fakes and decontamination of manipulative programs. The network of memetic signs is subordinated to the task of symbolic identification of conflict sides and their objectives.

THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF PROVIDING INFORMATION WARFARE IN MASS MEDIA

In the article the concept of information warfare is analyzed, it is also done comparative analysis of definitions of information warfare and information confrontation, the features and essence of these concepts are determined. Based on the analysis of 63 publications in Russian 70 Internet media of different directions, it was concluded that the media in these media had a negative attitude to the events in Ukraine and the general themes of the materials, and their ideological orientation has not changed for today.

Informational Sphere – the Key Factor of Russian Hybrid Aggression against Ukraine (Review Article)

The features of the information component of the Russian-Ukrainian hybrid war are investigated. The main directions and tools of Russian destructive information activity aimed at Ukrainian society are determined. Communicative opportunities of parties in work with the mass audience are shown and characterized by obstacles on the way of counteraction to the Russian information aggression.

In the article, the authors reveal the essence of information warfare; focus on the basic understanding of this phenomenon. The article acknowledges that in the scientific literature information war is interpreted, in particular, as rivalry in the informational and psychological sphere for the influence and control over resources; informational influence on making political decisions; a modern conflict that is inherent in the post-industrial society era; a conflict involving the use of information weapons, etc.

Russian information war against Ukraine: peculiarities and mechanisms of countering (Review Article)

The article deals with the problem of Russian information war against Ukraine. The authors explain the primary sense of the information war, its interpretation in the framework of wide and narrow approaches. Basing on the use of historic, systemic and structural-functional methods, the main disadvantages of the information sphere of Ukraine and the central mechanisms of its protection are identified. The tools of counteraction to the Russian information war against Ukraine are divided into two groups: legislative and institutional.
