The Influence of Organic and Inorganic Additives on the Specific Electrical Resistance of Coke

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of both inorganic (boron carbide nanopowders and silicon carbide (carborundum) and organic lean (petroleum coke) additives on the quality of coke produced in a laboratory furnace, as well as on its electrical properties. Analyzing the results of the quality assessment of the obtained coke, it can be argued that the addition of a fixed amount $(0.25-0.5 \ wt.\%)$ of non-caking nanoadditives allows to regulate the process in the plastic state in order to increase the coke strength.

Effect of Modifying the Clinoptilolite-Containing Rocks of Transcarpathia on Their Porous Characteristics and Catalytic Properties in the Conversion of C6-Hydrocarbons

The efficiency of modifying the Ukrainian clinoptilolite-containing rocks to improve their adsorption and catalytic properties was evaluated based on the data of XRD, IR spectroscopy, low-temperature N2 adsorption, and testing in the micropulse catalytic transformation of C6-hydrocarbons. The effect of such modification on the distribution of reaction products was established.

Regularities of Modifying, Morphology and Properties of Thermoplastics Containing Polyvinylpyrrolidone

The peculiarities of modifying polyamide 66/6 and polystyrene thermoplastics with polyvinylpyrrolidone in the viscous state have been studied. By applying in-strumental methods, the changes in morphology and phase transitions of modified materials have been revealed. The influence of the modifier on the strength and thermo-physical properties of the researched thermoplastics was determined.

Poly(Vinyl Chloride)-Polystyrene Materials with Polymer-Silicate Fillers

The features of obtaining and modifying Ba- and Zn-containing polymer-silicate fillers have been researched. The influence of polystyrene modifiers (suspension and impact-resistant polystyrene) and finely dispersed Ba- and Zn-containing polymer-silicate fillers on the gelation process, view of flow curves, rheological properties: flow index, flow limit, thermal stability, surface hardness and elasticity of plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) have been discovered.

Influence of Initiators on the Adhesion Properties of Bitumen Modified by Natural Origin Epoxide

The article is presenting a modification of bituminous binder with ecological epoxidized rapeseed oil (BERO) in the presence of the initiator (hardener). Adipic acid (AA), maleic anhydride (MA) and polyethylene polyamine (PEPA) were used as the initiators. The effect of modification temperature and, as well as initiator nature, on the bitumen properties was determined. Bitumen modified with BERO was evaluated by the following indicators: softening temperature, penetration, ductility, and adhesion to the glass.

ORGANO-MONTMORILLONITE MODIFIED BY POLYIONENES FOR POLYMER COMPOSITES

The technology for producing montmorillonite modified with polyionenes has been developed. It was shown that macromolecular polymer intercalation of the quaternary ammonium salt of montmorillonite intercrystalline space is accompanied by an increase in interlayer distances from 1.08 to 1.67 nm. A method for the synthesis of montmorillonite modified with polyionenes is proposed.

Research of the influence of modified polyethyleneaminoguanidine derivatives on composites properties on polypropylene based

The properties of the filled polymer compositions largely depend on the nature and surface properties of the fillers- basalt fiber. The possibility of modifying the surface of the basalt fiber with commercial polyhexamethyleneguanidinehydrochloride and non-commercial polydiethyleneaminoguanidine - appretes, were demonstrated for the first time.

USE OF COAL COKING BY-PRODUCTS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF POLYMER MODIFIED BITUMEN

Today there is a problem of rational use of coal coking by-products, which can be partially solved by obtaining a variety of polymeric materials on their basis. The presence of valuable reactive substances (indene, coumarone, styrene, etc.) in this type of raw materials contributes to the solving of the problem. An important aspect is the area of application of the resulting polymers.

Rheological properties of melts and x-ray method of study of cross-linked polyethylene

In the paper, the X-ray study of cross-linked polyethylene with isopropenyl styrene or acrylonitrile was carried out. It is shown that cross-linking leads to a significant decrease in the area of the exothermic peak, an increase in the resistance of the structured system to thermal oxidation. These data confirm that the increase in resistance to thermal aging of polyethylene cross-linked with acrylonitrile or isopropenyl styrene fraction.

Modification of the Impregnating Pitch by Phenolic Fraction of Coal Tar

The paper presents the investigation results of the organic mass modification of the impregnating pitch of coal tar with low pyrolysis degree. The processes that form the pitch operational properties in the impregnation technology of graphitized electrodes were studied. Specific features of the modifying additive effect on the quality characteristics of the pitch and its group composition were established. Such technological approach makes it possible to intensify the impregnation process of blanks for graphitized electrodes.
