BASILIAN ORDER MONASTERY IN SCHEPLOTY. HISTORY, ARCHITECTURE AND PROBLEMS OF PRESERVATION

Monasteries in the XVII–XVIII centuries to a greater or lesser extent were the cultural centers of the country, centers of theological thought, spiritual and intellectual activity. It is worth noting that the sacred buildings of that time are a sign of the presence of a certain people in the territory. The monastery in Shcheploty was a small Ukrainian monastery that played its own role in this process.

RESEARCH ON THE TRINITY MONASTERY OF THE STANISLAWOW FORTRES

The Trinitarian monastery and church was an important part of the original planning structure of the Stanislawow fortress city (now Ivano-Frankivsk), an architectural complex of ground and underground buildings with a religious, residential and warehouse purpose. The research identifies the original form and composition, historical building periods, further development and current state of the monastic complex of the Trinitarians. Dozens of historians, architects, local history explorers have left their essays or articles about this complex.

FEATURES OF THE BERNARDINES DEFENSIVE MONASTERIES OF WESTERN UKRAINE IN THE XVII-XVIII CENTURIES

The article analyzes the landscape and urban planning location of monasteries of Bernardins based on desk and field studies. Previously unknown facts about the existence and functioning of individual monastic fortification elements were revealed, and the features of the order's defensive structures were determined. 

BASIL MONASTERY COMPLEX IN UZHGOROD

The history of the emergence and the evolution of the development of the women's Basil monastery in Uzhgorod was considered. For centuries this monastery was the center of spirituality, education, science and art and was the cultural center of Uzhgorod. The history of the foundation of the monastery dates back to the first half of the seventeenth century, when a wooden monastery was erected. Subsequently, it was destroyed.
