Preparation and Purification of a Flame-Retardant Polyphenylphosphonate Containing 4,4'-Dihydroxybenzophenone

A polyphenylphosphonate containing 4,4'-dihydroxybenzophenone was synthesized as a flame retardant. However, impurities were detected and may compromise its properties and thermal stability. Thus, a purification route based on water and hexane extraction with reflux was proposed. Results showed success in removing impurities, especially P–Cl groups, without damaging the polymer.

Improving the Method for Producing Adsorbents from Agro-Industrial Wastes

A multi-stage method for producing an absorbent with increased absorption capacity based on agro-industrial wastes has been proposed. The method includes treatment of raw materials with sulfuric acid, mechanochemical modification, electrostatic separation, and cavitation stage. The expediency of the proposed adsorbent usage in the process of purification of contaminated water from fats, phenols, petroleum products, and heavy metal ions has been proved. The complex application of adsorbents (absorption of gaseous pollutants and wastewater purification) has been tested.

HANDLING THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY WASTE IN UKRAINE AND THE UA

The prospects of the pharmaceutical industry development are closely connected with scientific and technological progress. In Ukraine, handling hazardous medical waste is an open question. The rapid development of pharmacy in recent years has created and increased the possibility of the generation and accumulation of pharmaceutical waste at the enterprises and in the environment. Only a few enterprises deal with medical waste disposal. Medical waste recyclingrequires an extremely high level of attention and carriesgreat risks associated with handling this medical waste.

APPLICATION OF POLYMERIC DISPERSION FOR CLEANING SURFACE OF ARCHITECTURE MONUMENTS

The use of aqueous polymer dispersions of butyl acrylate-methyl-acrylate-methacrylic acid and polyvinyl acetate for purifying the surface of tiles of the 18th and 19th centuries, fragments of carved stone blocks of window frames XVII, bricks of the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries, and plaster brackets of the late nineteenth century, tiled tiles from the facade of the building of the city of Lviv, the areas of the surface of the Boim's chapel in Lviv, metal plates of models of coriand and stucco decor from the main building of the National University of Lviv Polytechnic.

Kinetic Modeling Studies of Enzymatic Purification of Glucomannan

Purification of glucomannan by hydrolising starch – the main contaminant – was studied. Hydrolysis removed 88.7 % of starch. The highest glucomannan сontent was found to be 73.35 %. The sample showed the comparable infrared spectra to those of the commercial glucomannan. The kinetics of enzymatic hydrolysis was evaluated using the Michaelis-Menten model.

INVESTIGATION OF CAVITATIONAL EXPANSION OF SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE UNDER ISOTHERMAL CONDITIONS

Liquid waste and wastewater, that contain hypochlorites, are formed during the production of chlorine and caustic soda; electrolytic production of magnesium and chlorine; in the production of pulp and paper products etc. Such wastewaters belongs to sub-standard, therefore they are not reused in corresponding technological processes. In accordance with the current normative documents, hypochlorite wastewaters must be disposed of at the local treatment facilities of the enterprises where they are produced.

The Decision of Landfill Leachate Treatment

This work is an attempt to analyze the theoretical and practical aspects of landfill leachate treatment and analyze the pros and cons of the most widespread methods leachate treatment and suggest the method of complex purification of high-concentration sewage waters from solid domestic wastes (SDW) for example of Hrybovychi municipal solid domestic waste.

Інтенсифікація очищення стоків ват “Карпатнафтохім” розчинами натрію гіпохлориту в кавітаційних полях

In this paper it was set that in cavitation fields of different power the oxidation rate of organic industrial wastewater by sodium hypochlorite solutions as a liquid waste significantly increases. Influence of main technological factors on this process was found. 
Установлено, що в кавітаційних полях різної потужності швидкість окиснення органічних компонентів промислових стічних вод відхідними розчинами натрію гіпохлориту істотно зростає. З’ясовано вплив головних технологічних чинників на цей процес. Ключові слова: натрію гіпохлорит, органовмісні стоки, очищення, кавітація

The process of purifying ìmitativ natural water from ions of Fluoride by natural klinoptilolit, which was previously activated thermal and elektroganìtnim methods, was investigated. It was set, that the electromagnetic method of zeolite activation provides efficient removal of water and Fluoride ions is less energy consumption.

Розроблення кавітаційно-флотаційного процесу очищення стічних вод в аспекті реалізації сучасних концепцій синтезу хіміко-технологічних систем

On the basis of the results of research of processes of wastewater from organic compounds in cavitation fields offered the concept of cavitation-flotation wastewater treatment. It implemented the main modern conceptions of the synthesis of chemical-technological systems.
На підставі результатів дослідження процесів очищення стічних вод від органічних сполук у кавітаційних полях запропоновано концепцію кавітаційно-флотаційного очищення стоків. У ній реалізовано головні сучасні концепції синтезу хіміко-технологічних систем.
