Developing a Method for Determination of Urinary Delta-Amino-Levulinic Acid using Molecularly Imprinted Polymers

Delta-amino-levulinic acid (ALA) has been introduced as a biological exposure index for workers exposed to lead. In this study, a new analytical method has been developed using molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) in microextraction by packed sorbent for urine samples. A spectrophotometric analysis was carried out for urine samples. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was used to determine the main constituents of MIPs. The optimized method was fast, sensitive, selective, easy to use and friendly to the environment.

Spectrophotometric Study of the Interaction of Platinum(IV) with New Derivatives of Azolidones

The interaction of Pt(IV) ions with the new derivatives of azolidones by spectrophotometric method was investigated. The spectrophotometric method for the determination of Pt(IV) using 5-hydroxyimino-4-imino-1,3-thiazolidine-2-one at pH 5.0 in acetate buffer medium was elaborated. The proposed method was tested by determination of Pt(IV) in model solutions and metallic alloy.

Mixed Ligand Complex of Lanthanum(III) and Alizarine-Complexone with Fluoride in Micellar Medium for Spectrophotometric Determination of Total Fluorine

A technique for direct spectrophotometric determination of total fluorine in products for oral hygiene using a mixed ligand complex La(III) and alizarin-complexone with fluoride ion in the presence of a non-ionic surfactant has been developed. A number of complexes of different stoichiometry formed in the system has been found. The La:alizarin-complexone:F- = 1:2:1 complex was shown to be used as an analytical form. The complex in the presence of Tween 80 is characterized by the molar absorptivity ε620 = 11000 mol∙dm-3∙cm-1.

Spectrophotometric Determination of Polyphenols in Green Teas with 18-Molybdodiphosphate

The reactivity of 18-molybdodiphosphate heteropoly complex (18-MPC) with respect to the polyphenolic compounds contained in green teas was estimated. The one- and two-electron heteropoly blues coexist depending on the ratio of reducing agent to 18-MPC in such reactions. The results for the determination of total content of polyphenols in green teas of different brands obtained with 18-MPC and FolinCiocalteu reagent are close to each other. The disadvantages of the existing methods are shown.


The integral components of wastewaters from chemical and petrochemical enterprises are monocyclic aromatics (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene, phenol and their derivatives). The toxic effect of these compounds turns out in violations of the activity of the human endocrine and central nervous system, the change in the species and trophic structure of biocenoses.

Кавітаційний розклад бензолу під дією акустичних випромінювань ультразвукового діапазону

Досліджено розклад бензолу під дією ультразвукових випромінювань, сформованих за допомогою ультразвукового магнітострикційного випромінювача. На основі спектрофотометричного аналізу розчинів бензолу, з застосуванням акустичних випромінювань ультразвукового діапазону, встановлено зміну концентрації бензолу в часі. Встановлено, що ініціювання процесу впродовж 300 с оброблення є достатнім для подальшого розкладу бензолу без подальшого накладання кавітаційних полів.
