Ukraine's Integration Into the European Research Area and Its Post-War Reconstruction

The purpose of this article is to study the practical component of Ukraine's integration into the European Research Area in the context of its post-war reconstruction. It is concluded that the coordination of national interests and key priorities of Ukraine's international cooperation in science and innovation with the new strategic goals of the EU, primarily in terms of post-war reconstruction, is an important vector for deepening Ukraine's integration into the European Research Area and the effective use of its scientific and innovative potential during this difficult period. In this context, strengthening research infrastructure and promoting joint research projects, including the mobility of researchers in critical areas such as digital technologies, energy, transport, construction, and agriculture, is of crucial importance for the country and essential for achieving sustainable long-term development. A special emphasis on the post-war reconstruction phase directly links the established conceptual framework of the European Research Area with both the urgent and long-term needs of Ukraine in recovery, which is an imperative for geopolitical shifts in Europe as a whole. The article demonstrates that by leveraging the principles and practical opportunities of the European Research Area, accessible through EU funding and cooperation platforms, Ukraine can not only revive its scientific and innovative potential but also become a full-fledged, competitive partner in the European research landscape. The results of the research can be used to develop legislative novelties in the specified field of law and to bring the current legislation into compliance with them, as well as with the principles and norms of EU law. The methodology includes the comprehensive use of scientific approaches and principles, as well as general scientific, philosophical and special scientific methods, in particular historicism, analysis, synthesis, generalisations, classifications, and forecasting, etc.
