The transport service is analyzed in terms of the parameters of quality and price. The main factors that form a demand for transport services are determined. The analysis of the factors that determine the concept of transport services quality in the context of their consumer evaluation is conducted.  It is investigated how fluctuations of transport services prices affect the demand for them in respect to different basic characteristics of the services. Scientific approaches to a set of factors actualizing the demand for transportation services are analyzed.

The research is carried out in order to study the prerequisites of shaping a demand for transport services. On the basis of these studies it is found that the material attributes, trust and reliability of the provider, competence, communicability and openness to a client, safety and availability of the services are the attributes that define the concept of transportation services quality. It has been proved that the more optional is the nature of the demand in transportation the more important is the impact of income and prices on the demand. It is observed that each individual transport service, as a part of the total transportation demand, is the result of a primary need. Hence the demand is set for transport, spatial and temporal distance between the points of departure and destination, specific cargo / passenger or group of cargo / passengers.

The results of the research are important for the development of fundamental knowledge about the market of transport services. These results will be useful for the further development of theory and practice of management of transport companies on market principles.
