The procedure for handling complaints regarding violations of academic integrity establishes the process for submitting, reviewing, and resolving complaints related to alleged violations of academic integrity, publication ethics, or editorial procedures in the journal‘Management and Entrepreneurship in Ukraine: Stages of Formation and Development Problems’.
Individuals entitled to submit a complaint include:
- the author (or group of authors);
- the reviewer;
- a member of the editorial board;
- a reader or any other person who has identified a potential breach of ethical standards.
Complaints are accepted concerning: plagiarism, self-plagiarism, falsification or fabrication of data; authorship violations (unjustified inclusion or exclusion of authors); undeclared conflicts of interest; unethical peer review; unauthorized use of another author’s materials; Violation of the procedure for article acceptance or rejection; inappropriate conduct by members of the editorial board or reviewers.
Complaints shall be submitted in writing to the official email address of the Journal.
The letter must specify:
- Full name of the complainant (anonymous submissions are permitted if justified);
- The substance of the complaint, a description of the circumstances, and supporting evidence (references, copies of documents, etc.);
- contact information for feedback.
Complaints are reviewed according to the following procedure:
- The complaint is submittedto the editor-in-chieforto the managing editorfor preliminary review.
- If the complaint concerns the editor-in-chief, it is submittedto an authorized member of the editorial board.
- Atemporary committee(consisting of members of the editorial board or external experts) is formed to analyze the circumstances of the case.
- If necessary, explanations may be requested from authors, reviewers, or editors.
Upon completion of the review, the commission shall make a decision which may include:
- rejecting the complaint as unfounded;
- making corrections or clarifications to the publication;
- publishing a retraction or commentary on the article;
- prohibiting further submissions from the violator;
- notifying the institution employing the author of the breach of academic integrity.
All complaint materials are treated confidentially.
Information shall not be disclosed except when necessary for an objective investigation.
If the complainant disagrees with the decision, they may appeal to the editorial board or the university ethics committee.
