INVESTIGATION OF THE PROCESS OF AMMONIUM ION ADSORPTION BY NATURAL AND SYNTHETIC SORBENTS BY METHODS OF MULTIDIMENSIONAL CLUSTER ANALYSIS

The results of the research of the adsorption capacity of a number of sorbents of natural and synthetic origin for ammonium ions have been clustered. The natural zeolite of the Sokyrnytsia deposit, a synthetic sorbent based on the fly ash of Dobrotvir state district heat power plant, Al2O3, SiO2, as well as some types of soil: sandy soil, black soil, and clay were used in the research. Equations describing the regularities of adsorption processes depending on the type of sorbent were obtained. According to the obtained dendrograms, two main clusters of sorbents were identified.

ECOLOGICAL PROBLEMS OF ENTERPRISES OF ALCOHOL INDUSTRY

The issue of industrial water treatment and food waste disposal is particularly relevant, especially for the alcohol industry. The problem of wastewater treatment and waste accumulation in the process of alcohol production is due to high chemical and biological oxygen demand, specific colour and odour, a large number of suspended substances, low pH. Therefore, the choice of promising wastewater treatment technologies is of paramount importance to ensure the ecological safety of the environment.

Application of Liquid Extraction for Treatment of Wastewater from Edible Oils Production

The structure of an emulsion formed in wastewater from edible oils production has been investigated. The type of emulsifier has been determined and the method of emulsion destruction has been proposed, providing further quality treatment of wastewater via liquid-extraction method. The resulting equilibrium and operating lines of the process were received. The number of transfer stages has been determined. The mathematical model of liquid-extraction wastewater treatment was built.

IMPACT OF RIVERBANK ANTHROPOGENIC POLLUTION SOURCES ON THE FORMATION OF RIVER WATER QUALITY

The method of estimation of the impact of riverbank anthropogenic pollution sources on the formation of river water quality is proposed. A description of the influence of housing and utility providers on water bodies within Mykolaiv region is
made. The obtained results can be applied in the development of measures aimed at improvement of the ecological situation in the area under study.

CAVITATION WASTEWATER TREATMENT OF OIL-FAT FACTORY FROM ORGANIC CONTAMINATION IN THE PRESENCE OF THE GASES OF DIFFERENT NATURE

Oil-fat industry produces and recycles vegetable fats and related products. Sewage of this industry contain a large number of pollutants different nature. But, the main contaminating components of this sewage are organic compounds, mainly fatty character. Existing methods of water purification are not capable of providing sufficient degree of wastewater treatment, which would comply established sanitary norms. It’s creates a big problem, because it’s cause pollution of surface waters with organic compounds. Solving this problem is possible when switching to closed water systems.

APPLICATION ANNOMOX PROCESS FOR BIOLOGICAL PURIFICATION WASTEWATER

According to experts, today in Ukraine a quarter of sewage treatment plants and networks worked in value term depreciation. As a result, a large number of cleaning stations decommissioned and wastewater that must be disposed of at these sites, get into the environment completely untreated, causing serious concern because they pose a potential threat to health and life.

ADSORPTION OF Cu (II) and Cr (III) IONS FROM AQUEOUS MEDIUM IN FIXED BED COLUMN

The adsorption of Copper (II) and Chromium (III) from aqueous solution by natural zeolite was investigated in fixed bed column. The effects of selected operating parameters such as flow rate and bed depth were evaluated. The breakthrough data are fitted well to Bed Depth Service Time (BDST) and Thomas models with high correlation coefficient, R2 = 0,91. The results showed that zeolite can be an effective adsorbent for Copper (II) and Chromium (III) removal.

FINAL-TREATMENT OF WASTEWATER FROM THE PRODUCTION OF EDIBLE OILS

The adsorption method of after-treatment of wastewater from the production of vegetable oils was investigated. The reasons of choice the activated carbon as adsorbent was justified. The statics and the kinetics of the adsorption process by activated carbon the organic component from the wastewater of oil production after extraction cleaning was investigated. The experimental data based on the theory of Freundlich and Langmuir were processed and the main constants of the process were defined.

Vibrocavitation decontamination of brewing yeast-containing wastewater

One of the promising ways to solve the problems of environmental safety is the creation of highly efficient methods of wastewater decontamination and destruction of organic compounds in them. The electromagnetic vibration cavitator was created to treat brewing wastewater. The efficiency of vibrocavitation treatment technology for the food industry was studied. The highest degree of decontamination from biological and organic contaminants was found to be provided by the combined action of vibrocavitation and related processing of gases, nitrogen in particular.

Concurrent Sorption of Copper and Chromium Cations by Natural Zeolite

The aim of this work was to study the process of adsorption of Copper and Chromium cations by natural zeolites in static conditions. The change of the chemical composition of the surface of the zeolite as a result of sorption of heavy metals was investigated. The influence of the type of the ions and pH selectivity in absorption of heavy metals removal by zeolite was analysed. The reasons for the selective extraction of Copper from two-component solution were explained.
