AMARANTH AS A SOURCE OF SECONDARY METABOLITES WITH POTENTIAL WOUND-HEALING ACTIVITY

Amaranth is a multi-purpose crop, known for its wound-healing properties. Amaranth leaves and seeds contain polyphenols and flavonoids that improve wound healing. Ethanol extracts of amaranth seeds of "Lera" and "Ultra" varieties and ethanol extract of leafs Amaranthus retroflexus were obtained. Determination of the content of polyphenolic compounds in the extracts was conducted by the spectrophotometric method with the Folin-Checolteau reagent. The number of flavonoids in the extracts was determined by the spectrophotometric method using aluminum chloride..

Antioxidant activity of extracts of Scorzonera purpurea subsp. rosea

The antioxidant properties of ethanol-water extracts of Scorzonera purpurea subsp. rosea obtained by maceration with ethanol content of 50 % (E50) and 70 % (E70) were studied using the DPPH (E50 – 82 %, E70 – 86 %), ABTS (E50 – 89 %, E70 – 93 %) and FRAP (E50 - 23.01 μmol/ml, E70 - 23.58 μmol/ml) methods. It was determined that the studied extracts differ little in the total content of extractive substances (E50 - 19.86 mg/ml, E70 - 19.4 mg/ml), the sum of polyphenolic compounds (E50 - 2.02 mgGC/ml, E70 - 2.11 mgGC/ml), flavonoids (E50 - 0.235 mgC/ml, E70 - 0.276 mgC/ml).

Total phenolic and flavonoid content, antioxidant activity of thalictrum foetidum

The objective of the present study was to determine the total content of phenolics and flavonoids in extracts of Thalictrum foetidum. The total phenolic content was estimated spectrophotometrically using Folin Ciocalteu method. The total content of flavonoids was determined by spectrophotometric analysis, based on the measurement of the absorption of the complex of aluminum chloride with flavonoids. The antioxidant effects of the extracts Thalictrum foetidum were investigated.

Study of alcoholic-water extracts of Thymus Vulgaris obtained by ultrasonic extraction method

Alcohol-water extracts of Thymus vulgaris have obtained by ultrasonic extraction method for different times extraction. The obtained extracts have been tested for the quantitative content of extractive substances, phenolic compounds and flavonoids and for the presence of antioxidant activity. The best studied indicators were found in extract obtained by ultrasound extraction for 40 minutes (content of extractive substances 25 mg / ml, sum of polyphenolic compounds 30 mg / ml, flavonoids content 45 mg / ml).

Investigation of the Sorption Capacity of Polyvinylpyrrolidone Copolymers As the Basis of Hydrogel Cosmetic Masks with Plant Biomass Extracts

The possibility of using hydrogels based on copolymers of polyvinylpyrrolidone with 2 hydroxyethylmethacrylate to saturate them with plant extracts was established. Hydrogel materials were obtained with extracts of Calendula officinalis and Arnica montana. The sorption capacity of the hydrogels regarding the extract data was determined.

Аntibacterial activity of hydrogel materials based on copolymers polyvinylpirrolidon with extracts of Сalendula officinalis and Аrnica Montana

The possibility of using hydrogels, that are based on copolymers of polyvinylpyrrolidone with 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate for saturation them with extracts of plants, was researched. Hydrogel materials with extracts of Calendula officinal is and Arnica montana were obtained. The sorption capacity of the hydrogels in relation to these extracts and the content of flavonoids in the extracts were determined  by using Ulab108UV.

SPRING PRECIOUS PRESENTATION – SOURCE OF PHENOL COMPOUNDS WITH ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY

The paper provides generalized information on the pharmacological properties, chemical
composition and use of primrose (Primula veris) in folk and official medicine. It has been
established that only 9 medicines on the basis of extracts from roots or flowers of the primrose
with a cup used in diseases of the respiratory system are registered in the pharmaceutical
market of Ukraine. In addition, the content of extractives, phenolic compounds, flavonoids,
antioxidant activity of tincture of grass of the primrose of spring is determined.

Peculiarities of Osmium Compounds Interaction with Some Flavonoids

The interaction of Os(IV) ions with morin, quercetin, luteolin has been investigated and the spectrophotometric methods of osmium determination using these reagents have been elaborated. The influence of various factors and the maximum yield of the products of Os(IV) ions interaction with flavonoids have been determined.
