HUMAN-FRIENDLY NEW WAY OF SEEING ARCHITECTURE

This article is written in the wake of the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic to shake the world and stagnant systems. After COVID, nothing would be the same as it used to be. It is what it used to be, and we were hoping for a different turn of events. However, things will not sort themselves out. So let us take a look at what cannot do itself, but must be done in architecture and design in general.

The architectural reconstruction and technical refurbishing of the new facility of the School of Performance were concerned with accommodating the needs of teaching, production, and performance in a found space, the basement of Ryerson University’s Student Learning Centre with utilizing of the state-of-the-art technologies. Kyiv Academician Theatre of the Podil, one of the leading drama theatre companies in Ukraine, has finally got the permanent home with the state-of-the-art performing facility.

BETWEEN TRADITIONALISM AND AVANT-GARDE: CREATIVE HERITAGE OF ARCHITECTOR SERHIY TYMOSHENKO IN THE INTERWAR PERIOD

The architectural activity of Serhiy Tymoshenko during the interwar period is considered in the article. Based on revealed archive sources the typology of buildings, designed by him, is defined, the authorship of separate dwelling houses and religious buildings is ascertained, the peculiarities of the creative approach to their design are analyzed.

CURRENT TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ARCHITECTURE OF RECREATION FACILITIES IN UKRAINE AND INTERNATIONALLY

The article presents the definition of key terms distinguished and used in the field of vacation, leisure, and recreation, and explains differences between them. The terms of "tourism" and "recreation" are similar in their meaning as many sources treat them as synonyms. However, the concept of "recreation" is much broader because it includes all types of individual’s activities in their free time from work spent outside their homes.

METHOD OF INTENSIVE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN ON THE EXAMPLE OF WORKSHOP: THE REORGANIZATION OF RECREATIONAL ZONES OF COASTAL AREAS IN SERGIIVKA VILLAGE, ODESSA REGION

The article describes the design methodology and appropriateness of architectural workshops for student learning and their involvement in participatory planning. As an example, given an architectural workshop that took place in September 2016 in the village Sergiivka, Odessa region at International urban forum "Area for development. Beach and city" with the participation of students and tutors from Odesa, Lviv, Dnipro, Kharkiv and Kyiv.

One of the ma­in in­di­ca­tors of the ra­ting of Uk­ra­ini­an uni­ver­si­ti­es is the qua­lity of pre­pa­ra­ti­on of fu­tu­re grad­ua­tes. The qua­lity of the grad­ua­te's tra­ining may be ref­lec­ted with a pos­si­bi­lity of his employ­ment. It is im­pos­sib­le to track ca­re­er growth of grad­ua­tes wit­ho­ut cre­ati­on of centra­li­zed in­for­ma­ti­onal sto­ra­ge to co­ver this pro­cess as well as pos­si­bi­lity for grad­ua­te to in­put in­for­ma­ti­on abo­ut his employ­ment.

REGION AND IDENTITY AS A TRENDS IN DESIGNING HIGH-RISE MULTIFUNCTIONAL COMPLEXES IN COUNTRIES WITH A HOT CLIMATE

The article deals with the features of architectural design of high-rise complexes of multifunctional objects in Asian countries, the climatic conditions of which coincide with the hot climate of the United Arab Emirates. An analysis was carried out of the most famous modern high-rise buildings, as well as those whose construction is still ongoing and conceptual, competitive projects of high-rise multifunctional complexes.

RETHINKING OF THE PAST: THE FATE OF SOCIALIST REALISM BUILDINGS IN THE CAPITALS OF FORMER EASTERN BLOCK COUNTRIES

In 1992 an extremely interesting study by professor Umeå University of Sweden, Anders Åman, "Architecture and Ideology in Eastern Europe during the Stalin era: an aspect of the history of the Cold War" was published. It was a rare and valuable work, which discussed the expansion of the architecture of socialist realism from Moscow to the west in order to establish a communist ideology.

DEVELOPMENT OF ARCHITECTURALAND THEATER IDEAS F. KIEZLER IN UKRAINE AND THEWORLD

Today, the whole world is fascinated by the projects of the avant-garde of the first half of the last century, Frederick Kiesler, who received higher education in Vienna, worked in Paris and became famous in the United States, becoming one of the main reformers of space theory. But how many people know that this phenomenal architect, sculptor and designer in the Ukrainian city of Chernivtsi was born and received primary education?
