Розглянуто проблематику впливу європейської політики згуртованості (cohesion policy) на підходи до вирішення урбаністичного середовища та оцінку його якості. Проаналізовано ряд параметрів, які визначають різні аспекти трансформації міського простору в контексті політики згуртованості. Надано оцінку вже існуючого досвіду інтерпретації громадських зон, як у контексті функціональної ефективності, так і з огляду на їх естетичну вартість. Окреслено напрямки стратегії згуртованості, які впливають на зміни ціннісних уявлень про міський простір. Наведено приклади з урбаністичної практики і їх характеристику.
