LIGHT AND SPACE COMPOSITION OF LE CORBUSIER'S SACRED BUILDINGS

The article discusses the ways, methods and means used by architect Le Corbusier to organize the light environment in his sacred buildings: the chapel of Notre Dame du Haut in Roncham; the church of the Dominican monastery complex Notre Dame de la Tourette; the Catholic church of Saint-Pierre-de-Firmin. The churches were built in France in the 50s and 70s of the last century, with the exception of the church in Firmin, which was completed in 2006.

SACRED IMAGE OF TERNOPIL REGION

The article highlights the stages of formation of the architecture of temple complexes in the Ternopil region, which today form the sacred image of the region.  The set of sources used in the study has different origins, gives researchers information for analysis of sacred architecture in the modern Ternopil region, which can be used in further research. The source base of the study are churches of different denominations - Orthodox, Catholic, Greek Catholic, Jewish, Armenian, as well as the remains of pre-Christian complexes.

THE DNEPER UKRAINE TRADITION IN THE SACRED ARCHITECTURE OF DON REGION IN THE 18TH CENTURY

On the basis of historical graphic materials analysis, a number of Don region sacral objects were identified as those whose style and character are undoubtedly connected with the traditions of Dnieper Ukraine architecture. The influence of the Dnieper region architecture in this region is mainly associated with the main military cathedral in Cherkassk (now Starocherkassk), but, the presented materials shows a much wider scale of this phenomenon within the framework of wooden construction.

NEW ROME, AS AN IDEAL HIERATOPY, IN THE GALICIAN SACRED ARCHITECTURE OF THE INDEPENDENCE AGE

The aim of the article is to reveal the tendency to use images of the Constantinople capital's architecture in the projects of sacred buildings in Galicia at the beginning of the XXI century. Under the hieratopy of New Rome means the special status of Constantinople - the sacred center of the World Christian (Roman) State. After the fall of Constantinople, the image of New Rome became available for reproduction in previously remote corners of the Byzantine world, including in the construction of the identities of certain modern nations formed in the nineteenth century.

SEARCH FOR CHARISMATIC IMAGE IN LVIV SACRAL ARCHITECTURE IN THE 1990S AND 2000S

The article considers the issue of charismatic sacral architecture in Lviv within 1990 - 2000 years. It has been outlined a period, during which traditionalist or denominational stereotypes did not affect a process of sacral buildings design. Within this some unique structures has occurred, as a result of individual search of charismatic image of a sacral space. The active phase of this period lasted through the 1990s and 2000s.

DEVELOPMENT OF ARCHITECTURE OF CHRISTIAN THEOLOGICALHUMANITARIAN MULTI-EDUCATIONAL CENTERS IN UKRAINE

The article discusses the results of the research on the topic of Christian education development in Ukraine in XI–XXI centuries and mentions the architectural and typological array of buildings and complexes that were used to conduct the educational process, including theological school of pre-Christian times, monastic school, theological school for the upper class, parochial school, large theological school, episcopal school, cathedral school, brotherhood school, theological seminary, theological academy, and theological university. 

Touristic attractiveness of Lviv temples

The scientific article is devoted to the analysis of touristic attractiveness to Lviv’s temples. It attempts to characterize a number of aspects that are important for the promotion of Lviv church architecture in the context of tourist attraction. Emphasized, that sacral buildings are not only a decoration of the city of Lion, but also a vivid illustration of the historical past.
