Розглянуто окремі аспекти застосування методу моделювання у наукових дослідженнях. Запропоновано філософські максими, на яких ґрунтується поняття моделі. Подано узагальнене означення моделі, її характеристики та типологію.

Проаналізовано існуючі методи контролю геометричних розмірів деталей. Описана принципова схема автоматичної установки для контролю діаметра і овальності прецизійних циліндричних деталей пневматичним методом. Наведені рекомендації щодо вибору основних параметрів пневмовимірювальної системи для забезпечення високої точності процесу контролю за максимальної продуктивності. Описаний пристрій забезпечує контроль діаметра та овальності циліндричних деталей з точністю 0,002 мкм та сортування проконтрольованих деталей на три групи: придатні, брак малий, брак великий.

Реальна атмосфера неоднорідна і в кожній її точці значення температури, тиску і вологості різні. Отже, показник заломлення, а значить, і швидкість поширення ЕМВ змінюється уздовж траси.

Така ситуація трапляється, наприклад, під час буріння свердловин, коли осьове навантаження на долото і частота його обертання вимірюються наземними приладами.
