DECORATIVE ELEMENTS OF THE POSTMODERNIST BUILDINGS OF THE LVIV SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE

This study summarizes the results of the analysis of three dozen architectural objects in Lviv based on which presents architectural school in Lviv and its transition towards postmodern stylistics. The article considers the analysis of the phenomenon of postmodern architecture, in particular one of the key issues of the discussion with modernism - the possibility and nature of decorating the facades of buildings.

PORTALS IN DECORATION OF BUILDINGS OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE ASSUMPTION OF THE VIRGIN IN LVIV

In artistic and stylistic terms, the architecture of Lviv's sacred buildings during the 16th-18th centuries was marked by a variety of appearances. The builders paid great attention to the plastic expressiveness of the building. The facades of sacred buildings were richly decorated, had a clear system of horizontal divisions of cornices and belts, carved in stone with ornamental carvings window frames, and portals of entrances.

EDITABLE THEMATIC DECOR IN THE DESIGN OF RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR

The article studies the problem of editable thematic decor in the residential interior as a relevant social phenomenon that has historically contingent genesis and significant potential for development in the future. It has been found that the complex analysis of editable thematic interior decor as a modern public demand is insufficiently reflected in scientific sources.

BUILDINGS ON KOST LEVYTSKY STREET DESIGNED BY ARCHITECT IVAN LEVYNSKY

The main object of the study is residential buildings of Lviv, built by the factory of Ivan Levinsky in the early twentieth century. The analysis was preceded by the archival search and full-scale house measurement surveys. The article gives historical and architectural characteristic for Lviv secession (modern) style in the late XIX – early XX centuries. The research reveals the originality of this phenomenon, its volume and spatial solutions, explores expressive means of the image-plastic system of secession.
