PRESERVATION OF THE HISTORICAL URBAN ENVIRONMENT CAPTIVED OF OLD MISTAKES

The article is devoted to the analysis of the current situation with the preservation and regeneration of the historic urban environment. The means and procedures used for this are analyzed. It is concluded that this area has significantly degraded over the past 20 years. This manifested itself in the fact that now the historical and architectural reference plan remains in fact the only document that protects the traditional nature of the historic city environment.

METHODOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF THE SCIENTIFIC AND DESIGN PROCESS OF PRESERVING THE HISTORICAL CITY

The article highlights the methodological aspects of the architect's work in the historical environment, reveals current trends and processes of transformation of the architectural and urban planning structure of historical cities. The main approaches to their reproduction and transformation are considered and analyzed. The concept of the central part of the historical city and the method of localization of its borders are revealed. The main requirements for the reproduction and development of buildings in the central part of historical cities are highlighted.

METHODOLOGY OF RESEARCH OF THE INNER QUARTER SPACES OF HISTORICAL CITIES

When addressing issues related to the reconstruction or renovation of historic quarters of the city of Chernivtsi, special attention should be paid to the procedure of research of inner quarter spaces. The theoretical basis of the study was a number of works on the specifics of the formation of the architectural image of the central parts of historic cities and problems of urban planning. 

THE VOLUMETRIC-SPATIAL ELEMENTS OF HOUSING IN CENTRAL PARTS OF SMALL HISTORICAL CITIES OF WESTERN UKRAINE

The article presents the results of the bulk-spatial and architectural features analysis of residential buildings at the central parts of small historical towns of Western Ukraine, which is significantly damaged. This is especially evident among the housing of non-market blocks in central parts of small historic cities.
