POSSIBILITY OF INDUSTRIAL AREAS REVITALIZATION IN THE EXAMPLE OF ZAMKOVA STREET IN LVIV, UKRAINE

Globally, cities have two options for growth: extensive and intensive. The former involves expanding the city's area to accommodate increased development or population. However, this option has significant drawbacks, including longer travel times within the city, loss of arable or recreational land around the city, and the need to construct new infrastructure. As a result, many cities opt for the intensive approach, which maximizes land use efficiency.

INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO THE PROCESS OF REVITALIZATION OF IMMOVABLE CULTURAL HERITAGE (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE POTOTSKY PALACE COMPLEX IN IVANO-FRANKIVSK)

The study reveals the problem of revitalization of immovable cultural heritage in Ukraine, which stems from the absence of state policy to preserve the architectural city-planning heritage supported by the necessary development and financing programs. The role of socialization of cultural heritage in the process of revival of valuable historical complexes that are under threat of destruction is shown, innovative approaches to the revitalization and the first positive results of their implementation are demonstrated.

CONCEPT OF REVITALIZATION OF THE FORMER BARRACKS COMPLEX IN KAMIANETS-PODILSKYI

The study presents a historical and architectural analysis of the former 18th
century barracks complex in Kamianets-Podilskyi (pol. Kamieniec-Podolski), Ukraine.
Reconstruction of the phases of its development, evaluation and valorization of its facilities was
carried out, and a concept for the rehabilitation, conservation and revitalization of the complex
was developed. The building of the barracks is a unique object due to its construction and
foundation in a steep terrain.

REVITALIZATION OF CASTLE RUINES: EUROPEAN EXPERIENCE

Depending on the state of architectural object preservation and information
how it was looking in a certain historical period, a decision to preserve and restore the building
is made. It is important the building to function and to be attractive to tourists as the life that
flourishes within the object ensures the viability of the architectural object. Revival of
abandoned and forgotten architectural monuments, in particular castles in ruins, is an

URBANISTIC STRATEGIES OF HISTORICAL CITIES: WORKSHOP REVITALIZATION OF MARKET SQUARE IN LUTSK

The article deals with the conditions and expediency of architectural workshops in the framework of pre-project studies of the territory design, namely public spaces. It is presented on the base of the workshop Revitalization of the Market Square in Lutsk, held in Lutsk, March 21-28, 2017, which was organized within the framework of the COMUS project Urban Strategies of Historic Cities Initiated by the Community of the Tourist Information and Services Center of Lutsk, together with Department of Urban Planing, Lviv Polytechnic National University.
