Digital Television Space: a Typology of Content as a Reflection of Democratic Processes in Ukraine

The digital television space has the informational and technological potential to ensure access to information and influence the deployment of democratic processes in the state. The typological structure of media content and the development of democratic processes in Ukraine are closely related. As a powerful resource of civil society, the media forms and satisfies information needs, determines public opinion, and influences the public consciousness of broad population segments.

LANGUAGE AS A TOOL OF RUSSIAN MANIPULATIVE PROPAGANDA

The article explores the role of language as a tool of modern Russian manipulative propaganda. It establishes that the language utilized by totalitarian regimes to shape an alternative reality is referred to as “Newspeak”, a term inspired by George Orwell’s novel “1984”. This artificial language serves the totalitarian system by creating a fabricated reality that benefits the propagandist. Modern Russian Newspeak is not a novel concept; while Orwell coined the term, the underlying idea predates him.

THE GEOPOLITICAL ROLE OF NATO AND UKRAINE’S IMAGE IN EUROPEAN MEDIA

This article examines the interconnected dynamics of NATO’s evolving security role, domestic political transitions in Ukraine, and the influence of major European media outlets in shaping international perceptions of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The analysis highlights how NATO, confronted with intensified hybrid, cyber, and conventional threats, continues to adapt its decision-making structures and operational capabilities while facing persistent challenges related to burden-sharing, rapid response, and alliance cohesion.

Nominative Units for Denoting Forced Internal Migrants: The Media Context of Creating a Verbal Image of a Person

Media texts use the names “internally displaced person”, “IDP” (without decoding), “migrant” to refer to people who were forced to change their place of residence within Ukraine due to the war, there are individual cases of using the names “refugee”, “new resident”, “evacuee”, “new arrival”. Each nominative unit has some differences in meaning, confirmed by the media context of their use. The abbreviation “IDP” most often reflects depersonalization, passivity, inability to take active actions.

The Image of Poles in Ukrainian Mediaspace During the War

This article explores the image of Poles in the Ukrainian mediaspace during the Russo-Ukrainian war, focusing on the period from 2022 to 2024. Using qualitative content analysis of Ukrainian regional media, the study examines how Polish-Ukrainian relations have been framed in the context of war, humanitarian aid, historical narratives, and geopolitical alliances. The research identifies dominant themes in media discourse, including Poland’s role as a key ally in Ukraine’s resistance, a provider of refuge and humanitarian support, and a long-standing historical partner.

The article identifies the peculiarities of coverage of environmental issues in the local media in the context of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the russian aggressor. The authors of the article have identified the patterns of actualization of environmental issues in journalistic investigations on the example of NGL.media. The main ways of data visualization in publications, including interactive maps aimed at providing a high-quality visual representation of the destructive effects caused by russian aggression on the environment.
