Pulp and paper enterprises are of great importance for sustainable economic and environmental development of certain regions and the economy of Ukraine. Man uses many natural resources during the lifetime, creating a burden on nature. As the world's population increases, this load increases, leading to a shortage of resources and deterioration in the environment. The main activity of Kokhavynska Paper Mill PJSC is the production of sanitary products for the domestic market and export.

The environmental impact of residual mineral fertilizers not utilized by plants is analyzed. It is shown that this negative effect extends to all elements of the environment: soil, atmosphere, hydrosphere. The perspective of the application of encapsulated mineral fertilizers that allow prolonged release of plant nutrients is outlined. The appliccation of modified polyethylene terephthalate (PETF) as a capsule-forming material for encapsulated mineral fertilizers is proposed. PET modification and fertilizer encapsulation technologies have been tested.

The analysis of the generation, recycling and landfilling of waste in Ukraine is carried out. Significant generation of various wastes leads to their storage on the ground surface, as it is the most widespread way of waste treatment in Ukraine. Frequently, the stored waste burns (waste heaps, waste coal, landfills), causing significant accumulation of hazardous substances in the environment.

Розроблено алгоритми роботи та програмні модулі системи аналізу, які передбачають два режими роботи: навчання або моніторинг, два види моніторингу (пошук заданої речовини або розпізнавання відомої), використання яких залежить від інтенсивності дестабілізуючих факторів та вимог тривалості контролю.

На основі аналізу екологічної ситуації в зоні впливу функціонування системи "породний відвал - навколишнє природне середовище" визначено ризики, які виникають при створенні породного відвалу та його розібрання або перепрофілювання. Дослідження в цьому напрямку і робота авторів дозволили окреслити тенденції щодо подолання негативного впливу на навколишнє середовище зазначених процесів шляхом впровадження технологій, що забезпечують екологічну безпеку регіону.
