Processes of faulting in the sources of perceptible earthquakes in the Precarpathians and Transcarpathians

Purpose. Getting new knowledge about the processes in the centers and focal areas of perceptible  earthquakes in the Pre-Carpathians  And  Trans-Carpathians . Methodology. To study the processes of faulting we used a technique which is based on the notion of the source as  a moving, extended source.The parameters of azimuth hodograph τ (Az) - travel time of focal waves Pi –are used to determine  the length of the rupture, the rate of its ripping, the propagation direction of the rupture in the focal zone of the earthquake.

Reconstruction of the tectonic stress field before and after Japan earthquake 11 march 2011

Purpose. The purpose of the research is to study the features of the tectonic stress field before and after the 2011 Japan earthquake. Methodology. The reconstruction of the tectonic stress field is carried out on the basis of cataclastic analysis method of earthquake focal mechanism. The method allows us to define the tectonic stress tensor parameters and increments of quasi-plastic deformation. Results.

Seismicity of Olesko area: ecological aspects

Earthquake of Olesky area and surrounding areas within the Lviv region and in particular some features of earthquakes in V. Mosty (1875) and Komarno (2007) as well as influence on a given territory from Vrancea zone earthquakes (in particular, the earthquake in 1838) are analyzed. According to foreign reports about the influence of the method of hydraulic fracturing on seismicity the conclusion about possible changes of seismic regime of the area and increase the possible danger to water resources of Lviv region from shale gas extraction were made. 

Reflection of local, regional and global seismotectonic process in deformations of rocks of active tectonic structures and earthquake prognosis

Multiscale pre-, co- and post-seismic deformation processes from the local, regional and strongest world's earthquakes in the Earth lithosphere according to the extenzometric measurements on the short quarts extensometer of RGS “Beregove” in Ukrainian Transcarpathians are considered. Some features of the propagation of such strains in the Eurasia lithosphere are traced.

Comparative characteristics of parameters and variations of Vise vector at the permanent geophysical station Nyzhnye Selyshche and magnetic observatory Hurbanovo

Purpose. The aim of investigations are comparative analysis of magnetic-variation parameters series from permanent geophysical station N.Selysche (Carpathians backdeep, Ukraine) and magnetic observatory Hurbanovo (West Carpathians, Slovak), definition of anomalous effects with regional features and studies of their relations with seismicity. Methodology. For comparative analysis were applied results of geomagnetic field variations records during 2011 from permanent geophysical station N.Selysche (Ukraine) and magnetic observatory Hurbanovo (Slovak).

Geophysical observations in Zakarpattia and their results

Purpose. The aim of the research is the analysis of the results of complex geophysical observations in the area Oach fault, the study of the influence of meteorological parameters on seismodynamic condition, geodynamic connection parameters with parameter variations of geophysical fields, calculations of the parameters of the dynamic nature in deformation processes in the region, which can be used as characteristics of the geophysical processes of the earth's surface in the zone of possible local earthquakes. Methodology.

Recent research of geophysical parameters of the lithosphere of East-European platform

Purpose. The purpose is review and analysis of the modern publications of the experimental measurements data of geophysical parameters investigations of East European Platform lithosphere and its surroundings. Methodology. The methodology includes a detailed complex analysis of the deep structure and seismotectonic activity in the stable regions. Results. Analysis of anomalies of electric conductivity in tectonically stable regions showed that within the ancient platforms that were previously attributed to aseismic, rarely, the catastrophic earthquakes with high intensity occur.

Geophysical insights on the structure and geodynamic evolution of the se Carpathians and related foreland in the context of the Black Sea opening

The paper brings into discussion geophysical evidence for jointly explaining the unusual craton seismicity in front of the SE Carpathians and the upper mantle intermediate-depth earthquakes in the Vrancea zone within the frame of the geodynamic environment generated by the W Black Sea opening and further evolution of the lithosphere expelled towards NW by rifting.

 

About continuity of a long time regularities via parameters of the sources of earthquakes in the era of digital recording

Goal: - to analyze the focal parameters of Crimean earthquakes determined from records of analog and digital seismic stations; - to draw a conclusion about the degree of their correspondence and continuity to the properties and regularities received earlier with the use of only analogue equipment. Methodology. We have chosen the earthquakes in the south of  Ukraine registered parallelly by two kinds of seismographs at the “Simferopol” and “Alushta” stations.
