The publication, based on the analysis of current legislation and the opinions of scientists, studies the essence and content of the category of "social danger" in combating criminal offenses against the environment. The conclusion is made that social danger is one of the essential features of the analyzed illegal acts and, at the same time, a socio-criminological prerequisite for their criminalization.

Drug addiction is examined as a negative social phenomenon and the problems of counteracting drug addiction. The recognition of the concept of "Child witness" at the legislative level has been updated, and the problems of law enforcement practice, when the court cannot, taking into account the circumstances of the case, assess the child specifically as a victim in situations where she only witnessed domestic violence.
