RESTORATION, CHEMICAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH OF STONE SCULPTURE OF ST. YAN NEPOMUTSKY FROM THE VILLAGE OF CHABARIVKA, VASYLKIV DISTRICT, TERNOPIL REGION

The sculptural composition originates from the village of Chabarivka, Vasylkiv district, Ternopil region (since 2015). On the map of 1779-1783 by Friedrich von Mieg, the sculpture of St. John of Nepomuk is marked with a red cross, located in the eastern part of the village stretched along the road, opposite the manor. The road from Kopychyntsi to Husiatyn passed to the north of the settlement.

WOOD IN WORKS OF ART AND ARCHITECTURE, HISTORY OF USE AND PROBLEMS OF CARE

Wood is a material used to create works of art, architecture and has been known to people for thousands of years. In Ukraine there is a huge number of outstanding works of architectural, art, decorative, sacred, industrial and utilitarian nature. Significant efforts are being made by conservation and museum workers to preserve and care for such works. The article provides information about the history of using wood to create works of art and architecture.

THE PROBLEM OF CASTLE RUINS CONSERVATION WITHIN THE RESTORATION ACTIVITIES FORMATION

The article reveals the history of the restoration activity formation on the example of the
castle ruins restoration in Ukraine and Europe during the 19th-20th centuries.
Castles have been constantly transforming since their foundation. Each subsequent
owner of the castle strengthened it, restored it after its destruction, made changes to the building
architecture. And in the 19th century, an understanding of the value of such architectural objects

RESTORATION OF STONE ART WORKS - CHALLENGES AND ANSWERS

Today the Department of Architecture and Restoration of Lviv Polytechnic National University conducts training of art restorers at educational and qualification levels: bachelor's and master's degrees. The scientific direction of the department - "development of the theory and practice of regeneration and reconstruction of historical urban complexes and restoration of architectural objects and works of art" is aimed at solving scientific problems in two branches - architectural and artistic. As for restoration, the main focus is stone restoration.

FEATURES OF RESTORATION OF SCULPTURAL PLASTIC FROM A BROWN STONE IN THE HISTORIOGRAPHYC ASPECT

The article analyzes the scientific works devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the alabaster sculptural plastic restoration in three thematic groups: 1) the terminological meaning of the alabaster stone name; 2) mineralogy, the quarries and the stone-working areas of the alabaster stone; 3) preservation and restoration of the sculptural plastic of the alabaster stone. Dictionaries, encyclopedias, monographs give the terminological meaning of the name. ASPECTS OF RESTORATION LION`S HEAD WITH BUNCHES OF WINE IN A STONE HOUSE ON RYSKA STREET, 4 IN LVIV

Article describes the methods of restoration, as well as the architectural, constructive and artistic features of head of a lion with vineyard. Expounded arguments in favor of the claim that because of details can represent the spatial image of the city in the cultural context of selected ages.

EDUCATION AND SCIENTIFIC PROCESSES PROVIDED AT PROFESSIONAL INSTITUTIONS FOR CONSERVATION IN THE USA

Some peculiarities of conservation educational and scientific process proceeded in specialized institutions of the USA East Coast are considered, in particular of the Universities’ conservation programs and of conservation laboratories belonging to museums or private firms.
